Bio
Rebecca grew up poor in a working class family. Through hard work and a quality public education, she earned a National Merit Scholarship and attended Southern Methodist University. Rebecca then went on to graduate with an MBA from the Kellogg School of Business Management at Northwestern University. After a successful 20 year career in the pharmaceutical industry, she now has a second career as an avid supporter of OKCPS. This school year alone, she has volunteered more than 1000 hours at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary and Wilson Elementary Schools. Rebecca recruited dozens of new volunteers. She has brought in donations ranging from everyday supplies to new iPads. She set up a partnership agreement with the Foundation for OKCPS and raised money for arts education at MLK. Because of her hard work and persistence, MLK students will experience music and arts this spring.
What drives Rebecca to advocate for OKCPS is her own public school education. Her heart is in public education and that’s why she has decided to run for office - to broaden the positive impact she has made at Martin Luther King, Jr. and Wilson Elementary Schools, to the entire Oklahoma City Public Schools system and give all students a fair shot at a quality education.
